Peter A. Wasiuk, Au.D., Ph.D., CCC-A

Assistant Professor · Clinical Audiologist · Hearing Scientist

Dr. Wasiuk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech, Language, Hearing Sciences at Southern Connecticut State University. His research examines speech understanding in complex listening environments, with a current emphasis on auditory processing, cognition, and functional listening in autistic adults.

The lab combines hearing science, cognitive psychology, clinical audiology, and communication sciences to study why real-world listening difficulty varies across people and environments.

He earned his Ph.D. in Communication Sciences from Case Western Reserve University and his Au.D. in Clinical Audiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He also practices clinically as a per-diem vestibular audiologist at Ear Specialty Group of Connecticut/The Dizzy Clinic in Farmington, CT.

Student research & mentorship

Training future clinicians and researchers through hands-on science.

Undergraduate and graduate students contribute to data collection, experimental design, analysis, and dissemination, with opportunities to develop increasingly independent projects through conference presentations, funded undergraduate research, and graduate theses.

Current research assistant profiles and lab photos will be added as the team page develops.
