Are you an adult on the autism spectrum who speaks English and is 18-35 years old?

If the answer is YES, please join us for a listening study!!

We would like to learn more about the listening experiences of adults on the autism spectrum!

Participation in the study pays at least $50 and only takes about 2 hours to complete in a single visit!

You will also have your hearing tested so that you can learn more about how you hear! Plus we can talk about ways to help if you have bothersome listening experiences or questions about your hearing :)

Eligibility:

  • You are between 18-35 years old (older individuals may also qualify, so please reach out!)

  • You speak English proficiently

  • You are a person on the autism spectrum

  • You may or may not speak more than one language (bilingual)

    • Individuals who speak more than one language (bilingual and multilingual individuals) are eligible, and so are monolingual individuals (who only speak English)

What does participation involve?

  • You will be asked to fill out questionnaires about your demographics and your experiences with hearing, listening, and social communication in everyday life.

  • You will take a hearing test in which you will be asked to respond to comfortable sounds presented via headphones.

  • You will listen to speech and repeat back what you heard. The speech will be presented in quiet or in combination with background noises. The speech and noise are not loud and are presented at a comfortable listening level.

  • You will be tested during a one- or two-hour session, which can be completed in one- or two-visits to the laboratory.
